KIDS Ceramics Classes
I love sharing my passion for clay with young artists, guiding kids aged 7 to 14 as they transform their creative ideas into unique ceramic pieces. Over two summers, I led the ceramics programs at camps in the USA, where I was promoted to Head of Ceramics in my second year. My role involved keeping the studio fun, safe, and organized while inspiring creativity through fully customizable projects like the Creature Money Bank, Croc Jibitz, and Monster Bowl. These projects were designed to spark imagination while teaching essential handbuilding, slab building, wheel throwing, and glazing techniques. We also offered free exploration time, helping children bring their personal visions to life with tailored guidance. Just take a look at the incredible creations they made...
Creature Money bank Project
Why settle for a Piggy Bank when you could have a Giraffe-y Bank or even a Loch Ness-y Bank? I created this project to inspire kids to design their own functional, yet completely customizable, ceramic creature money banks. In this workshop, I guided the children through a creative brainstorming session, encouraging them to think beyond ordinary animals. We sculpted quick, one-minute creatures in response to fun prompts like 'create an animal that starts with the first letter of your name' thinking of creatures both in this world and out! The only rule? No pigs allowed! By tapping into their imaginations, the kids brought to life some of the coolest, most unique creature banks. Take a look above at just a few of their incredible creations!
